Quick answers to the questions people ask most about DomainToolsKit and the tools on this site. If you can't find what you're looking for here, reach out through our Contact page, and we'll get back to you.

General

DomainToolsKit.com is a free suite of domain and network tools. You can search for available domain names, generate name ideas from a keyword, check WHOIS and DNS records, scan for subdomains, look up blocklist status, and a handful of other checks people need when registering or managing a domain, all in one place.

Yes. Every tool on this site, from the Domain Generator to WHOIS Lookup, DNS Lookup, IP Lookup and the rest, is free for anyone to use.

No. None of the tools require sign up. Type in what you're looking for and get your result straight away.

No, we're not a domain registrar. We help you find and check names, then point you toward trusted registrars where you can actually purchase the domain.

Domain Search, Generation and Bulk Checking

Our availability engine queries live WHOIS databases and registry APIs directly, so the result you see reflects real-time status rather than a cached or estimated guess.

Give it a keyword or two and it combines them with prefixes, suffixes and related terms to produce a spread of brandable name ideas. It checks availability on those suggestions automatically, so you're not generating names you then have to look up separately.

Yes, that's exactly what the Bulk Domain Checker is for. Paste in a full list of names and get availability across all of them in one pass, rather than searching one at a time.

WHOIS, DNS and Subdomain Tools

WHOIS is the older, traditional protocol for pulling domain registration data. RDAP is its modern replacement: more structured, better supported for internationalised data, and generally more secure. Our WHOIS tool supports both, so you get coverage either way.

When you update a domain's nameservers or DNS records, it takes time for that change to reach every server around the world. This tool checks the current state of your DNS records across multiple global locations, so you can see how far the update has actually spread.

It confirms whether your domain's nameservers are correctly delegated at the registry level, useful when DNS isn't resolving the way you expect and you need to rule out a delegation problem before digging further.

It scans for subdomains attached to a root domain. Handy if you're auditing your own domain's footprint, or checking what's sitting on a domain you're considering buying, old staging sites and forgotten dev servers show up more often than you'd think.

Security and Network Tools

It checks whether a domain or IP address has been flagged on major spam and malware blocklists. Worth running on any domain before you register it, since a previous owner's history can follow the name even after it becomes available again.

It scans a domain or IP for open network ports, giving you a quick read on what services might be exposed on a server.

It inspects a domain's SSL certificate: whether it's valid, when it expires, and which authority issued it. Useful for catching a certificate that's about to lapse before your visitors see a browser warning.

If you've recently changed DNS records and you're still seeing the old values, a stale cache is usually why. The Clear DNS Cache tool helps you force a fresh lookup instead of waiting for the cache to expire on its own.

Reverse IP Lookup shows you other domains hosted on the same IP address. Domain Location tells you roughly where a domain's server is based geographically. Both are useful for quick investigation work, figuring out who's really behind a domain or what else shares its hosting.

Privacy

No. We don't log, track or store the domain names you search, generate or check. Whatever you're working on stays between you and the tool.
